Advisement

All majors in urban studies and planning are required to make an advising appointment each semester prior to enrolling in the classes for the next semester.  Advising holds are placed on all majors each semester and majors must meet with a departmental advisor to clear the advisement hold.  These advising sessions are intended to assist our majors in successfully navigating the requirements for the major and to move to graduation as soon as possible.

During the fall and spring semesters Professor Craig Olwert serves as the department’s student advisor.  During the summer, Professor Rob Kent assumes these duties.  Advising appointments can be made and the departmental advisor can be reached by calling the department office at 818-677-2904.

In all cases, please register for advisement appointments in advance in the department office at SH 220 or call 818-677-2904.

The department advisor is responsible for processing all Graduation Checks, Course Substitutions, Change of Major and Declaration of Specialization forms, as well as clearing all registration advisement holds.”
