Docs & Talks for Hunger Awareness Month

Film: “A Place At the Table”

“50 Million Americans - 1 in 4 children - don't know where their next meal is coming from. A Place at the Table tells the powerful stories of three such Americans, who maintain their dignity even as they struggle just to eat. In a riveting journey that will change forever how you think about the hungry, A Place at the Table shows how the issue could be solved forever, once the American public decides - as they have in the past - that ending hunger is in the best interests of us all” (http://www.amazon.com/Place-at-Table-Jeff-Bridges/dp/B00B119H1A).

Docs and Talks: What is it?

Docs & Talks was designed to be a fun, interactive way to bring awareness to important social issues affecting social workers todays. Meeting one night a month, Docs & Talks includes a screening of a documentary chosen by students and faculty, followed bu discussion and debate. As a way to make a difference for those we work with, Docs and Talks will also offer opportunities to take part in a small advocacy piece related to the issue featured. Not only will Docs & Talks be a valuable learning experience, but also a great way to strengthen the bond between students. All MSW students and faculty are welcome.
