Lorenzo Córdova, President of the General Council of the Instituto Nacional Electoral in Mexico (INE), is a prestigious lawyer graduated from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM); he obtained his Ph.D. in Political Theory at the University of Turin, Italy, and is the author of several books on political theory and electoral matters. Black History Month

February is Black History Month. This nation-wide celebration honors African-Americans' contributions to American history and development. The theme for this year’s effort, Hallowed Grounds: Sites of African American Memories, recognizes the places of African American memories and the sites where African Americans made history. CSUN is proud to promote the observance of Black History Month with guest speakers, including acclaimed actor, director and producer Robert Townsend, film screenings and much more. 2015 Latin American Film and Art Festival Posters

The 2nd Latin American Film and Art Festival wrapped on November 15th. Presented by the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences and UNAM-Los Angeles, the 4 day festival offered a variety of cultural events including a program of short films created by UNAM and CSUN students, an art exhibit by Mexican artist Eva Malhotra, a live theatrical play featuring the lives of Diego Rivera, Archbishop Oscar Romero and Joaquin Murrieta (El Zorro), a series of theatrical readings with live audience participation, documentaries, and the feature film festival highlighting some of Latin America’s most talented filmmakers.
