Dr. Lothrop came to CSUN in 1994 from Cal Poly Pomona to fill the first endowed Chair in History in the California State University system. She was a passionate teacher and scholar of California History, and a vibrant presence on campus until her retirement due to ill health in 2002. She endowed a scholarship for History students with dependent children in memory of her mother Maria Ricci. Please read The Los Angeles Times obituary for more information on Dr. Lothrop.
