The Psychology Department invites students and faculty to attend the following invited colloquium. The speaker is Professor Dave Whitney from CSU Long Beach. Professor Whitney is the current chair of the Psychology Department and conducts research within the domain of Industrial Organizational Psychology. He will be giving a talk titled, "Individuals with Developmental Disabilities & Employment." The abstract for this talk follows:

This talk will discuss several research studies focusing on employment issues for those with developmental disabilities, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Study 1 compares results of research examining employment expectations for adults with developmental disabilities to work expectations of case managers in a southern CA Regional Center. Study 2 examines job satisfaction and organizational commitment in a small sample of adults with ASD. Finally, Study 3 explores the potential utility of the U.S. Department of Labor's O*NET database as a tool for identifying appropriate jobs for those with ASD.
