Dr. Gamino’s research interest focuses on people of color and their experiences with the criminal justice system.

Dr. Gamino teaches multiple CJS courses. For the Spring 2024 term, Dr. Gamino is teaching CJS 334 Law Enforcement Security, CJS 480: Applied Research in CJS, and CJS 494 A/AA: Internship and Field Experience, CJS 494 A/AA focuses on law enforcement and security.

She started her career in Higher Education by joining CSUN’s English Department Teaching Associate program where she taught English 114A/B. At the same time, she started tutoring at Los Angeles Valley College’s (LAVC) Writing Center and eventually started working at LAVC’s Outreach and Recruitment department as a Registration Assistant.

A fun fact about Kimberly is that she enjoys chaotic fun in the form of creativity, video games, and torturous hikes.
