Africana Studies Minor, Natalie Dahan at the National Council for Black Studies Conference

Natalie DahanNatalie Dahan, a Junior majoring  in Biology/Pre-Med and minoring in Africana Studies, presented her research entitled "Starving to be Heard" at the National Council for Black Studies (NCBS) Conference in Houston, Texas on Friday, March 10, 2017. Her presentation used several African/Black Psychological diagnoses and disorders to analyze herself and Rebecca Walker's text entitled Black, White and Jewish to emphasize the complexities of identifying as African/Black and Jewish. As a future trauma surgeon, Natalie plans to dedicate her life to eradicating racial biases in the medical industry and using a culturally centered approach to treating her patients.
