If you supervise employees, who are paid through The University Corporation, you may, at your discretion, give those employees MSA’s consistent with those of the Corporation, provided that the MSA’s can be covered by your existing project budgets. Your employees hired before January 1, 2005 are eligible to receive MSA’s. At your discretion, the MSA’s can be retroactive to July 1, 2005. Please copy the enclosed form as necessary and complete for each of your employees, even if no MSA is to be given. Submit the completed forms to Lynn Marks, University Corporation Human Resources (Mail Drop 8309) no later than December 1, 2005. Submission of your request by December 1, 2005 will ensure processing for the first payroll in 2006. If you submit the paperwork earlier, salary adjustments will be included on the next possible payroll, along with any retroactive pay. Please submit all MSA requests at the same time to ensure that the total increases do not exceed 3.5% of your overall payroll. University Corporation Sponsored Programs staff will review your MSA requests against your grant or contract budget to confirm there are sufficient funds. Please do not notify any employee of an MSA until the form is returned to you with the necessary approvals. If you wish to conduct a performance evaluation of an employee, you may request Employee Performance Evaluation forms from Lynn Marks (lynn.marks@csun.edu or 818/677-5040). Lynn can also answer any of your human resources-related questions. Thank you for your cooperation. ________________________________________________________________ The Sponsored Programs Bulletin is produced by The University Corporation - Sponsored Programs Department.
