Dear Principal Investigator or Research Administrator:

We would like to inform you about the option you have to utilize the CSUN 
Office of Government and Community Relations. The office can assist you with 
getting letters of support for your proposal from elected officials and 
requesting the help of elected officials to eliminate difficulties and 
roadblocks you may have with your grant.

If you are applying for grants and your proposal will benefit from the written 
support of an elected official, the CSUN Office of Government and Community 
Relations can facilitate requests for letters from elected officials in 
support of your grant proposals. Elected officials take into consideration the 
dollar amount, alignment with University priorities, and regional impact. The 
Principal Investigators will need to help draft an outline of a letter and/or 
provide an executive summary of the grant proposal.

There may be some scenarios where a grant funded through a governmental agency 
needs the attention or assistance of an elected official. If you ever need 
such assistance addressing a concern, requesting the involvement of an elected 
official or removing a roadblock you should contact the CSUN Office of 
Government and Community Relations.
