Bliman Vascular Age Calculator
To calculate your vascular age, answer the questions below and click "submit." To estimate your chance of having vascular disease, look up the prevalence of CVD corresponding to your vascular age in the table below. All fields are required.

- Cardiometabolic Age (CMA) is the vascular age predicted by gender-specific linear regressions of key elements of the metabolic syndrome and smoking history. When CMA is calculated using the Bliman Vascular Nomogram, it is called the Bliman Vascular Score (BVS). Although this online vascular age calculator is a proven predictor of vascular outcomes, it should not substitute for the judgment of your clinician.
- Vascular Age Difference = CMA minus Age. Negative values indicate better than expected, and positive values indicate worse than expected vascular aging relative to chronologic age.
- If there is a history of coronary disease, diabetes, or stroke, the goal for systolic blood pressure should be 120 or less. Blood pressure goals are based on the recommendations of the 2004 Update of the National Cholesterol Education Program's Adult Treatment Panel III.
- If there is a history of coronary disease, diabetes, or stroke, the goal for low-density lipoproteins, or "bad" cholesterol, should be under 70. Cholesterol goals are based on the recommendations of the 2004 Update of the National Cholesterol Education Program's Adult Treatment Panel III.
- Age-related gender-specific prevalence of disease is a useful indicator of vascular risk that is derived from the 2002 NHANES Survey of the United States.
