AIGA and SAGA events are a crucial part of interacting with SAGA. They provide excellent opportunities to SAGA members to get to know companies and professionals in the design field. SAGA has several events throughout the year that are open to the Art Department at CSUN. Below is a listing of the upcoming events for SAGA and AIGA.

We have a lot going on this semester so mark these events on your calendar. It is going to be a lot of fun and we will need all of your participation.

UP COMING EVENTS

SAGA's Online Magazine

SAGA is still going to design an Online Magazine of SAGA Member's Designer Profiles. Each member will get 1 spread (2 - 8.5 x 11 Pages), RGB Color Format at 72ppi. You can design anything you want on your spread. (It does not have to be art from the Art Sessions). Your design style can be photographic, illustration, drawing, cut and paste or any other design direction you can think of. This is your spread - MAKE IT REPRESENT YOU!!!

To be included in the Online Magazine Spreads PDFs must be emailed to sagamembers.yahoo.com by December 7th. PDF's must be Under 2MB.


Things you should include:
  1. Your Name
  2. A Designer Biography
  3. A Self Portrait using any medium (Photography, Illustration, Drawing...)

Things you may want to include:
  1. Art Session Designs
  2. A Collage of your student work
  3. Art that inspires you
  4. Quotes that inspire you

SAGA Art Sale

December 5th, 2008, 4 p.m. - 10 p.m.
December 6th, 2008, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

At the Art Department between the Ceramics Department and Room 331. Come hang out with friends and help SAGA sell buttons designed by SAGA members. Help raise money that SAGA will use next semester.

Button Designs are due by Monday, December 1st.

Peer Portfolio Review - December 2nd - Starts at 5 p.m. (The event will last 2-3 hours) - Come show your portfolio to your peers, friends and other CSUN graphic design students. See what other graphic designers at CSUN are designing and including in their portfolios. Get valuable feedback from designers who understand what you want out of being a graphic designer.

Art Session: November 25th Tuesday 5:00p.m. Purple Crit Room - Come collaborate with each other to create conceptual design.

Scan in all your Art Session Drawings by November 25th and start designing your biography and artist profile spread for the online magazine SAGA will be posting on the internet by the end of the semester. Bring ALL the Drawings you have done this whole semester to this final Art Session. Don't worry about bringing something that you don't think is any good, we will only use the good stuff. We are going to scan them, photoshop them and collage them together to make a poster to advertise SAGA on campus.
