Dr. Crist Khachikian has been a faculty member in the Department of Civil Engineering at the California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA) since 1999. He directed the Biogeochemistry Research Group in the NSF-funded Center for Environmental Analysis from 2000 to 2009 and acted as the Center Associate Director from 2007 to 2009. Since 2009, he has served as PI and Director of the NSF-funded Center for Energy and Sustainability. Over the years, Khachikian has generated $13 million of funding for collaborative research, student/faculty development, and infrastructure upgrades from the NSF, NOAA, Department of Education, DOE, and other agencies and foundations. He also authored and directed an interdisciplinary M.S. program in Environmental Science. Most recently, he served as the Director of Research in the College of Engineering, Computer Science and Technology.
