Paralympic Medalists to Exhibition Sitting Volleyball at Cal State Northridge

What:

The 2004 Paralympic Games bronz medal-winning USA Women’s National Sitting Volleyball Team is slated to demonstrate the sport at Cal State Northridge.

The team is training at CSUN’s Redwood Hall this week from Aug. 7 to 14.

Designed for people with disabilities, sitting volleyball athletes play from the seated position on the floor. With a court smaller than the standard volleyball court, the game consists of similar rules to standard volleyball. Sitting volleyball athletes are traditionally people with disabilities which have affected the lower body, able-bodied players are encouraged to get involved with the sport.
