CSUN's Planetarium to Offer Look at the Summer Skies

(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., June 2, 2005) -- Cal State Northridge's Bianchi Planetarium is offering a look at the mysteries of a summer night and a peek at celestial objects through a telescope beginning this month.

The planetarium will offer a show every other Friday night this summer, giving the public an opportunity to view different aspects of the evening skies.

The planetarium show will start at 7:30 p.m. and provide a chance to learn about the stars, constellations and planets visible in the sky during the summer. The only exception will be the June 10th show, which will examine objects visible during a spring night.

The planetarium shows will be followed at 8:45 p.m. each night with an opportunity to look at celestial objects using campus telescopes.

The shows will take place on June 10 and 24, July 8 and 22 and Aug. 5 and 19.

Student admission for the planetarium shows is $3. General admission is $5.

Tickets are available at the University Student Union box office Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., or by calling the box office at (818) 677-2488.

For more information about the planetarium's shows, call (818) 677-5601.
