CSUN Invites Public to Free Screening of 'Go For Zucker’
(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., Jan. 31, 2006) --The public is invited to join Cal State Northridge students, faculty and staff at a free screening on Thursday, Feb. 2, of "Go for Zucker,” winner of Best Film, Best Actor and Best Screenplay at the 2005 German Film Awards.
The film, which is intended for adult audiences, will be shown at 7:15 p.m. at the Fallbrook Laemmle Theatre near the corner of Fallbrook Avenue and Vanowen Street in West Hills. Following the screening, there will be a short question and answer period with Northridge history professor Michael Meyer, an expert in modern German culture and history.
"Go for Zucker” is a comedy about a wheeler-dealer who must reconcile his differences with his Orthodox Jewish brother in order for both to inherit their mother’s sizeable fortune. The movie was a hit with German audiences. The film is approximately 90 minutes long.
The screening is sponsored by Cal State Northridge’s Jewish Studies Program as well as by Temple Aliyah in Woodland Hills, Shomrei Torah Synagogue in West Hills and Temple Beth Haverim in Agoura Hills.
