CSUN Students to Join March for Peace as it Crosses the San Fernando Valley

What:

Hundreds of Cal State Northridge students and faculty will march from the university to the city of San Fernando in one segment of a 241-mile long March for Peace, inspired by Mahatma Ghandi's 241-mile, non-violent Salt March to end British Imperialism in India. The CSUN segment, sponsored in part by the university's Department of Chicana/o Studies Department, will be 10 miles.

The marchers hope to call attention to their opposition to the war in Iraq. The first leg of the March for Peace began on March 12 in Tijuana, Mexico. The official trek is expected to end on March 27 in San Francisco.
