CSUN Alumnus and Radio Personality to Speak on Success

(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., April 14, 2006) -- Cal State Northridge alumnus and radio talk show host Bill Handel, will be the inaugural speaker for the university's College of Business and Economics (COBAE) Partners Speaker Series.

The invitation-only event is scheduled to take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, at CSUN's University Club on the southeast side of campus at 18111 Nordhoff St., Northridge. A reception will kick off the event at 6 p.m.

Handel will discuss his strategies for success. Considered a leading law expert, he began his radio career in 1989 on KFI-AM 640 with a Saturday morning legal advice show called "Handel on the Law." Currently, Handel can be heard weekday mornings on KFI on his show "Handel Yourself in the Morning," and on a nationally broadcast weekend show called "Handel on the Law."

Cal State Northridge's College of Business and Economics is home to several nationally recognized programs where students gain valuable hands-on experience working alongside faculty members and business professionals in a variety of areas. Among its acclaimed programs is the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program in which CSUN students provide free tax preparation assistance to low income families and individuals. The college is also home to the San Fernando Valley Economic Research Center, where students work with faculty in collecting assembling, analyzing, and disseminating economic, social and demographic data pertaining to the Valley.
