Cal State Northridge Continues Search for Athletic Director
University Engages Carr Sports Associates to Assist with National Search
(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., May 3, 2006) -- California State University, Northridge is continuing its search for an athletic director and has engaged Carr Sports Associates, Inc. as counsel to the search.
Carr Sports Associates is a national consulting firm providing executive search and management consulting services for intercollegiate athletics. The company recently assisted nearby Long Beach State University in completing its athletic director search.

Candidates must submit a cover letter, a current resume including the names of three professional references, and a salary history for the last five years. A minimum of seven years experience in senior athletic administrative positions is desired, preferably at an NCAA Division I institution. A bachelor's degree is required, with a master's degree preferred.

Located in the suburban San Fernando Valley, about 25 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles, Cal State Northridge is a comprehensive university with nine colleges that offer 62 undergraduate degrees, 50 graduate degrees, and 28 teaching credential programs. The university has about 3,900 faculty and staff, and 33,000 students who reflect the rich ethnic and cultural diversity of the region.
The athletic director position at Cal State Northridge is responsible for the university's NCAA Division I-AAA athletic program, which has a nearly $7 million annual budget, about 400 student-athletes, and 20 intercollegiate teams, nine for men and 11 for women. Most of Northridge's teams compete in the California-based Big West Conference.
