And They're Off! Preschoolers, Kindergartners
Race Trikes to Raise Money for Their School
What:
Dozens of preschoolers and kindergartners will test their leg strength as they race around the Cal State Northridge Child and Family Studies Center's Laboratory School to raise money for the school's programs at its annual "Trike-A-Thon."
The children spent the week learning about the importance of exercise and physical fitness. They will put what they learned into practice when their play yard is turned into a race course complete with start and finish lines and water stations. Each time a child crosses the finish line he or she will receive a sticker on an official racing bib.
Friends and family members of the children have pledged money to the school in support of the young racers.
The school and the center are part of CSUN's Department of Family and Consumer Sciences in the College of Health and Human Development. The school serves as a learning environment for Northridge students interested in working with children.
