to Financial Management in Higher Education
(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., Sept. 12, 2005) -- Mohammad H. Qayoumi, Cal State Northridge’s vice president for administration and finance and chief financial officer, has received the Distinguished Business Officer Award from the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO). Qayoumi is the first person from the California State University system to receive this award.
NACUBO members have been granting the Distinguished Business Officer Award since 1984 to individuals who have made yearly contributions in the field of business and financial management in higher education.
The award, the organization’s most prestigious, was bestowed to Qayoumi this summer at Camden Yards in Baltimore, Md, during the organization’s annual meeting.
Qayoumi was honored to receive this recognition. “To be honored by a group of your peers is very humbling,” he said.
NACUBO was established in 1962, and serves a membership of more than 2,500 colleges, universities, and higher education service providers. The organization represents chief administrative and financial officers in higher education.
Qayoumi has almost 30 years of industrial and higher education experience. Since July 2000, Qayoumi has served as Vice President and CFO for Cal State Northridge. He has previously served as an adjunct faculty member and administrator at the University of Missouri-Rolla, San Jose State University, and the University of Cincinnati.
