CSUN Cinematheque Celebrates American Film Icon Edward G. Robinson
(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., Oct. 25, 2005) -- The Cal State Northridge Cinematheque series invites the public to special film screenings honoring American film legend, Edward G. Robinson.
The screenings will run from the end of October through early November. The retrospective titled “Actor as Auteur: Edward G. Robinson,” features films and never-before-seen footage of the actor and screen writer. Robinson’s granddaughter, Francesca Robinson Sanchez, is expected to attend the screenings.
The only known surviving poster of the Robinson film, The Hatchet Man, will also be unveiled and will be on display in the university’s Gallery of Poster Art.
The screenings take place in the Alan and Elaine Armer Theater in CSUN’s Manzanita Hall, located at the southwest corner of the campus at 18111 Nordhoff St. in Northridge.

Double Indemnity and excerpts from Flesh and Fantasy
Screening begins at 7:00 p.m.
- Nov. 3 -- Thursday
The Middle of the Night
With guest, director Delbert Mann
Screening begins at 7:00 p.m.
- Nov. 9 -- Wednesday
The Cincinnati Kid
With guests, director Delbert Mann and actors Marsha Hunt, Nanette Fabray, Connie Sawyer, as well as Robinson’s granddaughter
