Applicants

Now that you’ve applied to CSUN, you can take steps to ensure the rest of the admissions process goes well. Refer to the information below for your particular student category. For assistance with the myNorthridge Portal and other Web-based CSUN tools, check out the “How-To Guides.”

Freshmen

If you applied to be admitted as a first-time freshman, please make sure to do the following.

  • Check all CSUN correspondence frequently, including your CSUN email and announcements on the myNorthridge Portal. To establish your CSUN email, use the information provided in the letter instructuring you to "activate your CSUN user ID and password today."
  • Review your application status to see if you have any missing items by logging in to the myNorthridge Portal with your CSUN user ID and password. Locate “My Checklist” on the “Applicant” tab, and review "Incomplete Tasks," such as missing transcripts.
  • Send all required scores, transcripts and fees listed below by the deadline to:

    • Official high school transcripts: Send one preliminary transcript showing completion of the first semester of your senior year and one final transcript showing completion of the final semester of your senior year and graduation date.
    • SAT or ACT test scores: must be received by Admissions and Records no later than Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, for fall 2014 admission.
    • English Placement Test (EPT) and Entry Level Mathematics (ELM) exam scores: More information is available on the Testing Center website.
    • Application fee: Send $55 or submit an application fee waiver.

Transfer students

If you applied to be admitted as a transfer student, please make sure to do the following.

  • Check all CSUN correspondence frequently, including your CSUN email and announcements on the myNorthridge Portal. To establish your CSUN email, use the information provided in the letter instructing you to "activate your CSUN user ID and password today."

    • Official college transcripts: Send preliminary and official transcripts for any work in progress as soon as course work is completed; final transcripts from all colleges and universities previously attended must be postmarked or hand-delivered to Admissions and Records by Aug. 15, 2014.
    • Advanced Placement (AP) exams: Send scores, if applicable.
    • Application fee: Send $55 or submit an application fee waiver.
    • Upper-division transfer student eligibility requirements: complete by the end of the spring 2014 semester.

Graduate Students

If you applied to be admitted as a graduate student, please make sure to do the following.

  • Check all CSUN correspondence frequently, including your CSUN email and announcements on the myNorthridge Portal. To establish your CSUN email, use the information provided in the letter instructing you to "activate your CSUN user ID and password today."
  • Review your application status to see if you have any missing items by logging in to the myNorthridge Portal with your CSUN user ID and password. Locate “My Checklist” on the “Applicant” tab, and review "Incomplete Tasks," such as missing transcripts.
  • Send all required transcripts and fees listed below by deadline to:

    • Official transcripts: Send from all colleges and universities attended.
    • Application fee: Send $55, if not already paid through CSUMentor.
  • Find out if your program requires additional material. Credential students are required to submit a supplemental application to the Credential Office. If you are a master’s student, contact the graduate program of your discipline to determine if additional documentation is required.
