USU’s Pride Center hosting “Out in the Garden” event to celebrate National Coming Out Day

Northridge — The Pride Center of the University Student Union (USU) invites the CSUN community to “Out in the Garden”, a special event celebrating National Coming Out Day in the Oasis Wellness Center. On Thursday, Oct. 12 from 5 to 8 p.m., everyone is encouraged come to the Oasis to experience this fun and welcoming event to recognize all people who identify as LGBTQ+. Attendees will enjoy food, crafts, a photo booth, dance and musical performances – all for FREE.

“National Coming Out Day is an important celebration to honor those who came before us, support those coming out now and encourage all those who will follow,” said Pride Center Supervisor, Jesseanne Pope. “We want everyone to join us as we celebrate your identity, honor our history and unite our community with an evening of fun and entertainment in the beautiful setting of the Oasis.”

Attendees will enjoy performances from dance group, Taste the Rainbow and acoustic duo, One Step Closer.  There will be a series of powerful testimonials from LGBTQ+ students throughout the evening and many fun activities – plus FREE food for all attendees!
