Typhoon Haiyan

November 12, 2013

To the Campus Community:

This weekend, the world community witnessed the destructive impact of Typhoon Haiyan that has devastated the Philippines and continued on to other countries in the region. Southern California is home to one of the largest Filipino communities outside of the country, so it is especially important for our campus community to express support and concern for the people of the Philippines, the victims of the disaster, and their family and friends, including those who are part of our local and CSUN community.

As a campus community that has experienced first-hand the devastation of a natural disaster, our hearts go out to those impacted by the typhoon. To those of you who have families and friends in areas affected by the typhoon, we hope that your loved ones are safe and have not suffered greatly.

Members of the campus community wishing to support the relief and recovery efforts in the Philippines are encouraged to do so through local efforts and established relief organizations such as the Red Cross and the Salvation Army.

Sincerely,

Dianne F. Harrison, Ph.D.
