Special Task Force on Engagement Report

August 2, 2011

To the Campus Community:

During the 2010-11 year, the University was fortunate to have a highly engaged and influential team of alumni leaders undertake a study on how California State University, Northridge can better engage our alumni and community in support of the University's future.

Co-chaired by two Cal State Northridge alumni – then Hawaii Governor, the Honorable Linda Lingle (Journalism '75) and Foundation Board Chair Earl Enzer (Finance '83) – the Special Task Force on Engagement issued its report Engaging the Future of California State University, Northridge that was accepted and endorsed by the University's Foundation Board in June 2011.

I ask the campus community to review this report with care and consider how you can integrate its recommendations into your own work and the strategic direction of your department or division. The engagement of our stakeholders – alumni, parents, community leaders, civic and business leaders – is critically important to the future of the University and to our ability to attract increased philanthropy and public policy support.

If you would like a paper copy of this thought-provoking report, you may contact either Vice President for University Advancement Vance Peterson or Senior Director of Strategic Projects Greg Buesing.
