President's Office

National Day of Service and Remembrance

The following message was posted on the front page of the university website on Sept. 11, 2015:

Today as a nation we celebrate Patriot Day and a National Day of Service and Remembrance. It is a day we honor those who were lost on 9/11 but also the tradition and legacy of service that is an important part of our nation’s heritage and was on full display on September 11 and the days following. On this day of observance, in accordance with custom and a presidential proclamation from the White House, the U.S. flag at the Oviatt Library will fly at half staff today until sundown.

While the university, and schools and businesses nationwide, remain open, I hope everyone will take a few moments from their busy day to remember the people who we honor today and reflect on the values of service that CSUN is also committed to passing on to our students.
