Applications Being Accepted for Clinton Global Initiative University 2017

March 1, 2017

To the Campus Community,

Last fall, I informed all of you about an incredible opportunity for CSUN students to demonstrate their passion and commitment to making a difference in the world by participating in the Clinton Global Initiative University 2017 (CGI U). Last year, several CSUN students participated in the CGI U at the University of California, Berkeley, with some singled out for special recognition.

CSUN students are encouraged to apply to attend the Clinton Global Initiative University 2017 meeting at Northeastern University in Boston, which will take place from Friday, October 13, to Sunday, October 15, 2017. Each CGI U student makes a Commitment to Action with a specific plan to address current challenges on the campus, in the community or in other parts of the world.

CSUN is a part of the CGI University Network and provides funding for students accepted to CGI U 2017 to attend the meeting in Boston. Some seed funding to support student projects may also be available to eligible students.

Students often lead the way in confronting and tackling many of the world's greatest and most urgent challenges. To find out more about the CGI U, students should email CSUN's initiative advisor, Dr. Mary-Pat Stein < >, or go to the CGI U website at: https://www.clintonfoundation.org/clinton-global-initiative/meetings/cgi-university.

The final application deadline is May 1, 2017. I encourage students to take advantage of this opportunity to make our communities better while learning, networking and becoming the leaders of tomorrow. I also ask faculty and staff reach out to any outstanding student you know who would benefit from this program.
