Dear Department of Physics and Astronomy Alumni and Friends:

Each year more students graduate and join the extended alumni family. More than 1000 students have graduated from the Department since its inception. While most graduates majored in Physics, we also want to acknowledge the students majoring in Biomedical Physics.

Forming an alumni chapter is one of our goals. We invite you to help with establishing a new Department Alumni Chapter. You may contribute in many ways:

• Join the CSUN Alumni Association and identify P&A as your primary interest.
• Volunteer to be a member of the steering committee.
• Participate in upcoming events.
• Send us your updated personal information.
• Contribute financially.

We made an effort to update the records of our alumni list. We mailed a letter to the address of record and tried calling each of you. We were only partially successful in reaching you. Most of our records are still incorrect or incomplete. We need your help!

• Help us to update our records. If you are listed incorrectly and/or are missing in our historical alumni list at: www.csun.edu/phys/students/alumnilist.html please let us know.
• Help us by letting us hear from you. We will post your news at our alumni news page at: www.csun.edu/phys/students/deptalumninews.html to keep everyone informed. It is really nice to learn about you.

One of the challenges that the Department faces is a decreasing financial support from traditional sources. Monetary contributions are of course always welcomed but you can help in many other ways. For example, you can be an ambassador to prospective students by letting us provide your name and email address so that you can testify of your experience in the Department while you were a student here and the benefits of your CSUN education. Or simply send us a brief note of your professional career that we can post and share with prospective students.

Our academic program has been modified over the years in response to your comments and offers an outstanding educational opportunity to the majors. We invite you to view the Department web pages and learn about the many accomplishments. We welcome your comments and suggestions.
