Donald E. Bianchi Awards

These awards are named after Donald Bianchi, former Dean of the College of Science and Mathematics, and his commitments to scholarship and research and its relationship to teaching. Recipients of the Bianchi Award are from the College of Science and Mathematics. There are three Bianchi awards. They are: (i) The Outstanding Faculty Research Award; (ii) The Outstanding Graduate Student Research Award; (iii) The Outstanding Undergraduate Student Research Award. The recipients are selected based on their research accomplishments.

Honors and Other Achievements

Professor Nick Kioussis was selected as a scholar of the Kavli Institute of Theoretical Physics (KITP) for 2005-2007 at UC Santa Barbara. The director of the institute is Dr. David Gross. Dr. Gross received (shared) the 2004 Nobel Prize in Physics.
