Jason Silver
Ready to explore the world? Meet new people and have an entirely new experience? That is exactly what Jason Silver did when he went on exchange to University of Massachusetts, Amherst in September of 2005. As a junior Jason took advantage of the Student Exchange program at California State University, Northridge. As a result, while on exchange he met several other students from Cal State Northridge and who are now two of his closest friends.
Jason chose to come to Cal State Northridge in 2003 to be close to his family. Also, when he was choosing schools he discovered that at the time Cal State Northridge had the highest rate of acceptance into UCLA for Psychology students seeking a Masters Degree. He is involved in a number of programs including the University Ambassadors where he gives tours to prospective students and their families. He has made many friends through the University Ambassador program and has had countless opportunities to network with faculty and staff through various events such as, coffee hours, award ceremonies and banquets. He sees joining the University Ambassadors as the beginning of his active involvement at CSUN.
In the Spring of 2005, Jason was a member of Blues Project, which educates students on campus and at local high schools regarding depression and suicide prevention. He is also a member of Psi Chi, the Psychology Honors Program here at Cal State Northridge. Overall, Jason believes that the college experience is what you make of it. He feels that if you put yourself in a positive situation, you will get that much more in return. He believes that you should take advantage of the many opportunities of involvement that Cal State Northridge has to offer. "Getting involved and taking on leadership roles allows you to open yourself up to new things while broadening your horizons."
Jason has been very happy with the quality of teachers he has had and feels that he's prepared to pursue a Masters Degree in Public Health when he graduates in the Spring of 2007.
