Aaron Ariza Arak

When you speak to students from Cal State Northridge, many will tell you that getting involved will enhance your college experience and Aaron Ariza Arak is someone who has taken this advice and run with it! Originally from Ventura County, Aaron chose to come to Cal State Northridge because it was close to home yet "far enough away to have my own life". Aaron is a Business Management major and has found the College of Business and Economics to be amazing and the professors have made even the driest of subjects interesting. Aaron lived on campus his freshman year and said he would recommend the experience to all college students. He is still good friends with two of his roommates, even though they moved out of campus housing three years ago.

In addition to his classroom and housing experiences Aaron has become involved in campus organizations and has volunteered his time off campus. Depending on the day you will find Aaron either leading campus tours to prospective students as a University Ambassador or recruiting students for the Birthright Israel Program which takes Jewish students ages 18-26 to Israel on a 100% free trip or working as an Advisor for the YMCA Youth and Government Program which teaches 10th-12th grade high school students about the government process in California. He is also interning at Smith Barney where he helps one of the stock brokers prepare proposals for clients.

Aaron feels that getting involved has helped him become more outgoing and developed his leadership skills. "College has taught me that when I put myself out there, other people will do the same and new friendships can begin." Aaron will be able to use his leadership skills when he pursues becoming a stock broker or financial advisor upon graduation from Cal State Northridge in the Spring of 2007.
