Cal State Northridge is located in one of the world's largest employment centers, which means those who want to are often able to remain in the Los Angeles area or Southern California after graduation. In fact, more than 80 percent of our graduates remain in the region, become part of the workforce and contribute to its vibrant economy.

While the best known industry in Los Angeles is entertainment, the economy is highly diversified. You can find work in banking, finance, retail, manufacturing, health services, and high-tech research and development.

Cal State Northridge is in the San Fernando Valley, which is located within Los Angeles city limits but also includes neighboring cities of Glendale and Burbank. Many major corporations are headquartered here including NBC-Universal, The Walt Disney Company and ABC, CBS Studio Center, and Warner Bros.

Like Los Angeles, the Valley's economy is diversified. Many students work as interns and later as full-time employees in firms, government agencies, and nonprofits in the vicinity of Cal State Northridge. The health care, biotech and finance industries are major employers. Well-known corporations that make their home in the San Fernando Valley include DreamWorks SKG, Health Net and Sunkist Growers.
