What can I do for fun?
We're located in Los Angeles, the film capital of the world, so let's start with movies. On Thursday evenings, the International and Exchange Student Center screens free films especially for international students. You can also catch a free flick at the University Student Union, the Satellite Student Union and CSUN Cinematheque at the Alan Armer Theater.
If you're into music, you'll find all kinds on campus. The Associated Students sponsors free noontime concerts at the University Student Union, featuring everything from reggae to rock. You won't want to miss the Big Show, which is held outdoors in the fall and features a top recording artist, such as Ludacris and Lupe Fiasco. At the Valley Performing Arts Center, you can see top recording artists, touring stage productions and dance performances.
Want to get your game on? Stop by the Games Room underneath the Fitness Centre. This is the spot for Texas Hold'em, pool, table tennis, Xbox 360, Wii and arcade games.
You don't need to be an athlete to enjoy sports at Cal State Northridge. Our Intramurals and Sport Clubs offer an unbelievable array of sports and activities, from hip-hop dancing to basketball and soccer to karate. Intramural sports are incredibly popular at Cal State Northridge and we have several leagues. Or, try a sports club. These clubs offer structured competition with other universities and amateur clubs in a wide variety of activities, such as dance, tennis, boxing, roller hockey and paintball.
While you're in Los Angeles, you'll want to see the sights. The International and Exchange Student Center sponsors free outings to tourist attractions such as the Hollywood Walk of Fame, The Getty Center and the Museum of Modern Art.
If you just want to relax and hang out, the International and Exchange Student Center has free coffee and snacks on Friday afternoons.
