First Time Transfer Fall 2009

Congratulations on your acceptance to the College of Business and Economics at California State University, Northridge. Our professional Advisors will support your plans for academic success and timely progress through degree completion.

The University has sent you important information. Please first read all correspondence and visit the websites listed on your letters and brochures. Please feel free to search our Student Services Center and EOP Satellite website and navigate to all College of Business websites to find additional information. University websites, including Admissions and Records and Undergraduate Studies, are valuable resources

First Time Transfer Advisement

The Office of Student Services requires group advisement for incoming transfer students. Please call 818-677-3537 in February and on-going to schedule a group advisement session.

What to do BEFORE my advisement group

IMPORTANT: Transcripts

  • If you have not submitted all transcripts from the community college(s) and/or universities you have attended. please do so ASAP.
  • If you have already submitted your transcripts to Admissions and Records but they are not showing on your Degree Progree Report (DPR) check your portal student account to view the status of all transcripts submited.
Your Degree Progress Report (DPR) will not be accurate until your transcripts have been received and offically evaluated by Admissions and Records. Without an accurate DPR it can be diffcult for CSUN advisors to direct you to the proper courses to take at CSUN. During advisement, you may be asked the following questions:
  • Are you GE certified or do you anticipate being fully GE certified by the end of your last semester at the community college?
  • Have you or will you be finished with your lower division business core classes prior to your first semester at CSUN?

What do I need for my advisement group session?

  • You will need a pen.
  • All Transfer group sessions are located in Juniper Hall. Visitor parking is available in the B5 or B6 parking structure at a cost of $5.00 per day. Campus map available here.
  • Please be on time. Please consider travel time and traffic in the Los Angeles area.
Please Note that seating space is for the students only . Parents and friends are welcome to enjoy the campus and surrounding community while waiting. Advisement duration is approximately two hours. Visitors . Call ahead for dormitory visitation schedules.
