Computer Facilities

The proposed computational research will be carried out at the Computational Materials Theory Center (CMTC) in California State University Northridge (CSUN). The University has allocated 4,000 square feet of space for the CMTC, and 3,000 square feet of space for the Materials Science Center in the College of Engineering. 2. The CSUN participants have acquired the following high performance computers recently: (1) A Beowulf cluster with 900 cores and QDR Infiniband switches; (2) A Beowulf cluster with 900 cores and Infiniband switches; (3) A Beowulf cluster of 400 cores with 144GB memory on each node; (4) 33-node Microway server with 460 CPU Opteron AMD.
