Programs
The Career Center’s programs engage students in the multidimensional process of career development and help them understand the factors that go into making plans for their future work life. Each program has a wealth of resources, events and activities to effectively assist students in advancing on their career path.
Career Center signature programs
- CareerLink contains career information and resources for students online. Students will find CareerLink full of rich and valuable career information, engaging videos and animated activities. CareerLink helps students with educational and career decision-making, goal setting and job search strategies along with locating employment opportunities. Using CareerLink, students learn about themselves, college and the world of work. They can identify what they are interested in, what’s important to them, what they are good at and compare their results with majors and occupations. Through CareerLink, students find a sense of purpose, become job search ready and learn how to manage their career pathway.
- Handshake, our online job board and career services system, helps us manage communications and transactions between students and employers. In Handshake, students can find and apply for jobs and internships, sign-up for Career Center events and workshops, upload resumes, practice interviewing or schedule an on-campus interview. All on-campus federal work-study jobs and most student assistant positions are posted in Handshake. More than 500 CSUN alumni are available through the Matador Network to mentor students on educational and career goals. Students can also access additional resources for career exploration and writing a resume.
