Student Staff / Staff Positions

Accounting Student Assistant

  • Department: Accounting
  • Description: Answering phones, filing, counter, customer service, and maintaining an effective working relationship with others. Processing cash receipts in cash register, maintaining files and records, understanding and interpreting applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures regarding A.S. accounts, assisting with inventory, monthly statements and retrieving documents for various audits. Other duties as assigned.
  • Our ideal candidates should have:
    • Some accounting/business classes preferred
    • Responsible, courteous and shows good judgment

Climbing Wall Assistant-Fitness and Wellness

  • Department: Students Recreation Center
  • Description: Under the direct supervision of the Fitness and Wellness Coordinator, A.S. Outdoor Adventures Coordinator and A.S. Graduate Assistant monitors rock wall area to ensure safety of all climbers, and provides general instruction on climbing techniques in a fun, enthusiastic, and safe environment during operations. Performs routine and non-routine tasks requiring considerable on-the-job training and/or specialized skills. Jobs at this level may require some discretion in judgment, analysis, and decision-making. Previous experience, relevant education or specialized skills are highly desirable but not required for employment.
  • Our ideal candidates should have:
    • Climbing experience preferred
    • American Red Cross First Aid, CPR, and AED certification; trainings for certifications will be provided by USU once hired
    • Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills required
    • Must attend standard USU and SRC employee orientation as well as specific job related training
    • Ability to maintain a neat appearance and courteous disposition
    • Ability to make independent decisions and make recommendations
    • Strong verbal communication skills required, including ability to share relevant information, ask questions, listen well and respond appropriately
    • Ability to work in a culturally diverse, ethnically pluralistic environment
