University 100 leads campus in retention to year two for 2012 freshmen

December 17, 2013

CSUN President Dianne Harrison's holiday email "Let It Shine: Happy Holidays" (12/17/13) listed six accomplishments for 2013, ending with this one:

"Most importantly, we continued to experience gains in student persistence, with the most recent one-year continuation rate of our first-time freshmen entrants coming in at 78 percent, a higher persistence rate than any the campus has seen since before the year 2000."

The evidence available from Institutional Research shows that University 100 freshmen edged out all other subgroups in terms of freshman persistence this year with a persistence rate of 78.7 percent.  Congratulations to the U100 faculty, staff, steering committee, and students who made this possible!

The bar graph and accompanying data chart show the percentage of U100 freshmen enrolled at CSUN in fall 2013 one year after entry.
