Admissions requirements

With the growing number of students interested in pursuing education at California State University, Northridge, CSUN has updated freshman admissions criteria through the use of impaction. Impaction is a tool that California State University (CSU) campuses use to manage the number of students it admits. CSUN has implemented regional and academic (specific majors are additionally impacted) impaction to align with CSU enrollment targets. Out-of-state students are not affected by impaction.

Visit CSUN's impaction information page for more information.

Admissions requirements differ depending on whether you are a local area, nonlocal area or out-of-state applicant. Visit Admissions and Records freshman admissions criteria page for more information.

Note: All first-time freshmen are required to submit SAT or ACT scores by the deadline.
