The NCOD Student Learning Program provides tutoring services, free of charge, to all deaf and hard of hearing students at CSUN.
The tutors, many of whom are themselves deaf and hard of hearing and all of whom know American Sign Language, in the NCOD Student Learning Program are vital links in the support services chain, and they can help students to help themselves to succeed in their academic pursuit.
The NCOD Student Learning Program seeks to improve first-year and at-risk student Grade Point Averages and retention by supporting deaf-appropriate tutoring services for deaf and hard of hearing students, and by providing subject-area tutors, peer tutors from the NCOD sponsored classes, and volunteer tutors from the community.
