The Music Building
Completed in 1960, Cypress Hall (the Music Building) features modern, acoustically-designed rooms which maximize sound separation and yet, provide a graceful surrounding to encourage academic and musical activities.

Recital Hall
The Recital Hall (CY158) was recently renovated and redesigned to an acoustically transformable room which can be adjusted to the needs of the performer.

Practice Rooms
Practice Rooms are provided for the use of all music students and are located at the south side of both the first and second floors of the building.

Main Office
For questions and general information, the Music Office houses a friendly staff willing to help every student.

Rehearsal Hall
Everyday, various ensembles meet in the rehearsal hall to practice.

Music Technology Lab
The Music Technology Laboratory (MTL) has fully-equipped MIDI stations and computers for classes and open-lab sessions. Computer software includes sequencing, notation, multimedia, word processing and gives each student access to the Internet and e-mail.

The Pipe Organ in NH 107
The Pipe Organ, built by J.W. Walker & Sons, is located in Nordhoff Hall, room 107. With twenty-three ranks and 1,777 pipes, it was built to the sound of a French-classical instrument.

The Plaza del Sol Performance Hall
Many of the Music Department's concerts are held in this hall. This facility has a 500-seat state-of-the-art theatre. With excellent acoustics and an intimate feel, the Center has already proven itself to be an ideal setting for a wide variety of stage events ranging from concerts to theatrical productions, public forums to dance performances. The venue is equipped with a computerized lighting system, sophisticated sound system, orchestra pit, dressing rooms and a full fly system.
