Carey Christensen is currently a full-time Lecturer in Music Industry Studies at California State University, Northridge.
Prior to joining the CSUN faculty in the Fall of 2008, Professor Christensen worked for the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, Inc. (NARAS/The Recording Academy) for eight years, first as a Los Angeles-area special event producer, then as Senior Manager of Ticketing for both the annual GRAMMY and Latin GRAMMY Awards.
Mr. Christensen holds a Master of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (MBA and Music Industry Studies) and a Bachelor of Music degree (Double-Bass Performance) from California State University, Northridge.
Mr. Christensen has performed and/or recorded with a variety of prominent musicians ranging from Neil Sedaka to Ben Harper. He has worked in educational music publishing, book publishing (non-music), music library services, and as a contractor/agent for Los Angeles-based and regional acts.
