Photo of Sandra Bostrom-AguadoSandra Bostrom-Aguado teaches piano (individual instruction), piano pedagogy, musicianship and class piano. She completed her master's and doctorate degrees at the University of Southern California in the areas of piano performance, music theory/history, music education (choral), and educational statistics (computer science). At CSUN, she has taught many of the courses designated for piano majors including the complete piano pedagogy sequence, keyboard history, alternative keyboards, and sight-reading for piano majors. Adjunct to teaching these courses, she has also written the textbooks - Introduction to Sight-Reading and Introduction to Alternative Keyboards.

Because of her compositional writings, she has strong computer interests in the areas of sequencing and notation. She has written the book Introduction to Music Technology, a complete set of laboratory tutorials for notation and sequencing, and Introduction to Jazz Piano, a beginner's guide to keyboard jazz. In conjunction with CASIO and her publisher, Valiant Educational Videos, four videos and fifteen books teaching sequencing, keyboards and jazz improvisation were produced. She has worked as a music editor for films, videos and commercials, and has served on the board of directors of an independent film studio, Associated Film Services. She has also worked as notational editor for two publishing companies in New York and Texas and has had numerous compositions published and performed from a collection of more than 75 original choral and instrumental works.

Dr. Bostrom-Aguado is the developer of the FFEPP (Form For Evaluating Piano Performance) and regularly gives lecture-performances throughout the western states. She is in demand as an adjudicator for auditions held nationwide, has had numerous articles published on preparing for competitions and has appeared in many state and national conventions. She has taught piano—both classical and contemporary and her major teachers have included Daniel Pollack, Rosina Lhevinne, Lillian Steuber, Muriel Kerr and Dame Myra Hess.
