Autition Schedule and Excerpt Material

Signup sheets will be posted on room 212 the week of auditions. You can sign up that week or on the day of auditions. On audition day the signup sheet will be posted on the audition room.
Students are required to play orchestra excerpts. Student’s may be asked to sight read as well. It is highly recommended that you print off the excerpts and then study the excerpts by carefully noting dynamics, articulation, tempo and style. Listening to multiple recordings of the work from which each excerpts was taken is highly encouraged.

It is always critically important to familiarize yourself with the orchestral works from which the excerpts are taken. Listening to muliple recordings of the works will help you to understand, tempo possibilities, character and context fromwhich the excerpts come.
