Scholarships

The California State University, Northridge Department of Art is pleased to offer a wide variety of scholarships and awards to honor outstanding achievement. Please read and follow the “application procedure” below. Recipients will be notified by the selection committee, usually in mid May. Due to the large number of applications received, non-selected applicants are not notified.

Debra Sue Dunn Memorial Scholarship Endowment

Award Amount: $2,000 Deadline:

May 4, 2015, 9 p.m. 2015-2016 Academic Year
• Application: csun.starsscholarshipsonline.com/STARS/Default.aspx
• Must be either a Graduate Student with at least 3.5 GPA OR an Undergraduate with at least a 3.0 GPA
• Must be pursuing one of the following programs B.A. in Art, Minor in Art, MA in Art, MFA in Art, Credential in Art
• Must have two letters of recommendation

Award Amount: $2,000

Deadline: May 4, 2015, 9 p.m. 2015-2016 Academic Year

• Must have a 3.0 GPA or Higher
• Career objective must be to become a teacher
• Must have two letters of recommendation
• Must be pursuing a major within the College of Arts, Media & Communication, College of Humanities or College of Social & Behavioral Sciences

Jamie Karl Cohen Memorial Award Amount: $2,000

Deadline: May 4, 2015, 9 p.m. 2015-2016 Academic Year

• Must be either a Graduate Student with at least 3.5 GPA OR an Undergraduate with at least a 3.0 GPA
• Must be pursuing a degree in the field of Theatre, Art, or Music

Award Amount: $9,701 Deadline:

April 10, 2015, 2 p.m. 2015-2016 Academic Year

• Must be a graduate student enrolled in at least 4 units, or a credential student enrolled in at least 6 units
• Must have a bachelor's degree in art or in one of the visual art specializations
• Must be enrolled in a post-baccalaureate program leading to a high school single subject teaching credential in the arts, or a master of arts/fine arts program in art or one of the visual art specializations
• Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 William and Janet Lahey Art

Award Amount: $1000
