Message from the President

Dear Campus Community--

Provost Harry Hellenbrand and I want to share with you his decision to step down as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at the end of this academic year.  Vice President Hellenbrand has provided 11 years of extraordinary service to the university, our students and employees.  He has been considered a "provost among provosts" both within the CSU and nationally.  As many of you know, Provost Hellenbrand communicated his intent to step down in June 2017, but decided over the holiday break that we should begin the transition sooner.  Fortunately, Harry has agreed to serve as a special assistant to the president during the 2015-16 academic year, working on a number of student success initiatives and grant projects.  A national search will be conducted for his successor who is expected to begin July 1, 2015.
 
Please join me in thanking Provost Hellenbrand for his leadership.  As summer approaches, we will have opportunities to celebrate as a community the Provost's outstanding service and achievements.
