The California State University Alliance for PUMP consists of the following campuses: Channel Islands, Dominguez Hiills, Fullerton, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Northridge, Pomona and San Bernardino. The CSU Alliance PUMP Program, Preparing Undergraduates through Mentoring towards PhDs, invites applications for two new programs. Applicants from all campuses are encouraged.
Summer Program in Mathematics (July 8, 2013 - August 2, 2013): Prepare yourself for a successful career in Mathematics by attending an intensive workshop at CSUN.
The CSU Alliance for Preparing Undergraduates through
Mentoring towards PhDs invites Mathematics majors from the
CSUCI, CSUN, CSULA, CSULB, CSUDH, CSUF, CSUP, and CSUSB campuses
to apply to a four-week workshop on the CSU Northridge campus.
The project will provide for free housing in a dorm room as well
as a $2,000 stipend for all participants. This is a seven-day-a-
week program that will prepare students for taking advanced
mathematics courses. Enrichment activities include speakers,
graduate school information, and mentoring by graduate

Undergraduate Research Groups in Mathematics
The CSU Alliance for Preparing Undergraduates through Mentoring towards PhDs invites Mathematics Faculty from the CSUCI, CSUN, CSULA, CSULB, CSUDH, CSUF, CSUP, and CSUSB campuses to submit proposals for the Undergraduate Research Groups. Each group should be composed by one faculty member and two undergraduate students that have passed lower-division courses required as part of the major (e.g., Calculus, Linear Algebra, etc.).
The project will pay $5,000 for the faculty advisor that can
be used for reassigned time or additional pay. Each student will
receive $3,000 stipend (paid in two installments, US citizens or
permanent residents only) for completion of the project.
