These past four weeks have been very busy for the club as we had the wonderful opportunity to work with Project Grad Los Angeles to teach middle school students the fundamentals of robotics. The students constructed their own robots to compete in our obstacle course called RoboRun. We were extremely impressed by the innovative robot design ideas the students came up with. Not only did the students think of intelligent design ideas, they rendered their ideas into reality and built robots that impressed us all.

Overall, the students represented three middle schools including Pacoima middle school, Olive Vista middle school, and San Fernando middle school. Through robotics, the students learned the real life applications of Science, Math, and Engineering. After completing the summer program, some students were so intrigued by robotics that they would like to start VEX robotics clubs at their middle schools and high schools. Our team is very thankful to Project Grad for giving us the chance to spread the knowledge of Science, Math, and Engineering. We look forward to further helping the community and Project Grad by mentoring new VEX Robotics clubs.
