Nicholas Monson - President

Major: Computer Science B.S

Class Status: Junior

Nick Monson is an undergraduate junior majoring Computer Science and getting a minor in Mathematics. He is a full time student at California State University, Northridge and hopes to graduate on the four year plan. He has four years of experience in both first robotics and VEX and has previously been a programmer for the CSUN Matabots. He has participated in a summer program, hosted by the education department, to teach middle school students on how to build robots. Monson is also the VP of the CSUN chess team and has experience in JSA as a debate representative. He has many hobbies such as composing chip tune music, programming videogames, playing chess and computer graphic designing.

Edwyn Jocol-Perez - Vice President

Class Status: Junior

Edwyn Jocol-Perez is an undergraduate sophomore of the College of Engineering and Computer Science at California State University, Northridge. He has participated in previous Vex Competitions that include: Sack Attack over the past year. Edwyn is currently majoring in Computer Engineering and has been a member of the California State University, Northridge Vex Robotics Club for the past three semesters. He has participated in the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation. Edwyn lives in North Hollywood, California where he can commute to school with ease. When not working or studying, Edwyn likes to draw, watch videos, or play online games.

Alex Resendiz - Treasurer

Alex Resendiz is an undergraduate student of the College of Engineering and Computer Science at California State University, Northridge. He is currently majoring in Computer Engineering. Alex has been a member of the California State University, Northridge Vex Robotics Club for the past semester. He has volunteered as a math tutor at Sherman Oaks Center for Enriched Studies for elementary students. Alex has also participated in the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP).

Pablo Diaz - Fundraising Coordinator

Class Status: Junior

Pablo Diaz is an undergraduate student of the College of Engineering and Computer Science at California State University, Northridge. He is currently majoring in Mechanical Engineering with a Minor in Mathematics, and plans to focus on Aerospace Engineering, Rocket Propulsion, for his career. Pablo has been a member of the California State University, Northridge Vex Robotics Club for more than a year. He has taught Robotics to middle school students in two of CSUN's summer programs, Project Grad and Summer Academic Enrichment Program (SAEP). Pablo's interests outside of school include attending movie premieres, making music, playing video/card games, and building model rockets.

Erin Kubo - Sergeant of Arms

Class Status: Freshman

Erin Kubo is an undergraduate freshman of the College of Engineering and Computer Science at California State University, Northridge. She is currently majoring in Mechanical Engineering hoping to either go into aerospace or work for Disney as an Imagineer. She has participated in her very first robotics competition last year in Vex Toss Up. She is a complete novice when it comes to robotics, but nevertheless her experience and passion for the competitive field continues to grow rapidly. For example this past summer she grasped the fundamentals quickly and used her skills to teach Middle School Students how to build their very own robots in the Summer Academic Enrichment Program (SAEP). She lives in Temple City and commutes the hour drive to Northridge for most of the week. Erin is half Japanese and half White (German, Lithuanian, French, Scots-Irish, English) and always eager to learn new cultures. Her interests in anime, Korean Dramas, Korean-pop, Japanese-pop, and Chinese-pop is evident of this fact. She loves participating in Soccer, Softball, and Wushu. In Soccer she has played for 7 years, coached for 3 years, and refereed for 4 years. For softball she has played for 11 years and have coached for 2 years. She recently just started participating in Wushu for about a year. Not only has she participated in sports, she has also taken part in musicals and acting when she was in high school. On top of that she loves to draw and play PC games on her spare time.

Karanvir Panesar - Webmaster

Major: Computer Engineering B.S | Minor: Art

Class Status: Junior

Karanvir Singh is currently a student at California State University Northridge and is working toward getting his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering. He is an active member an officer of the CSUN VEX Robotics team as the head programmer and the officer position as webmaster. He is also working on the Unmanned Aircraft Systems as an undergraduate research assistant in the Systems Engineering Research laboratory at CSUN. Along with an interest in Computer Engineering, Karanvir Panesar pursues his interest in art and design as an Art minor at CSUN. He spends his free time learning about graphics design and web design. Karanvir currently interns for the non-profit organization Life’s Purpose Fulfilled as a graphics designer/video editor. His interests include programming, graphite drawing, biking, running, baking, PC gaming, web design.

Richard Walker - President

Major: Mechanical Engineering B.S, Manufacturing Systems Engineering B.S

Class Status: Graduating Senior

Richard Walker is an undergraduate graduating senior of the College of Engineering and Computer Science at California State University, Northridge. He has participated in previous Vex Competitions that include: Gateway and Sack Attack over the past two years. Richard is currently majoring in Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing Systems Engineering and has been a member of the California State University, Northridge Vex Robotics Club for the past five semesters. He has participated in a variety of activities including the 2011 CDIO Rethink City Innovation Camp in Copenhagen Denmark, the IBM/IEEE Smarter Planet Challenge, the Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scout, and the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation. Richard Walker is currently an active member of the Boy Scouts of America volunteering as a Merit badge counselor for the Drafting, Engineering, Family Life, Communication, Scholarship, Robotics, and Music merit badges. Presently, he works as a Project Grad Ambassador tutoring students from several school that are under the project grad Richard lives in Van Nuys, CA where we can commute to school with ease. When not working or studying, Richard likes to “tear it up” in Battlefield 3 and 4 and survive as a hero in DayZ.

Michael Rios - Treasurer

Class Status: Senior

Michael is an undergraduate student of the College of Business and Economics at California State University, Northridge. He is currently majoring in Accounting with the long term goal of becoming a CPA. Michael has been a member of the California State University, Northridge Vex Robotics Club for the past scholastic year. He has participated in a summer program hosted by ProjectGRAD to mentor middle school students on robotics. He currently holds the position of Treasurer for three separate campus club programs: CSUN Vex Robotics, CSUN Salsa Libre, and CSUN League of Legends Club. He is a prior member of the Accounting Association club and will join again in the future. Michael lives in Sylmar, California where he can commute to school with ease. When not studying, Michael plays League of Legends, chess, Dungeons and Dragons, plays music, or goes out dancing salsa with his friends.

Zanlin Oo - Fundraising Coordinator

Class Status: Senior

Zanlin Oo is an undergraduate senior of the College of Engineering and Computer Science at California State University, Northridge. He has participated in the previous Vex Competition Sack Attack over this past term. Zanlin is currently majoring in Mechanical Engineering and has been a member of the California State University, Northridge Vex Robotics Club for the past semester. He has served 4 years in active service in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he had deployed 3 times to fight the war in Iraq. He is now a full time student working on his goal of achieving a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Zanlin lives in Winnetka, CA where he can commute to school with ease. When not working or studying, Zanlin likes to engage in sporting and outdoor activities.
