Student Campaign Wins Big With Fox Deportes

FOX Deportes continued its partnership with California State University, Northridge’s College of Business and Economics in Fall 2013.  Professor Walker’s Internet Marketing (MKT 448) students were tasked with building a campaign around Golden Boy Boxing, targeting the 18 – 35 (Spanish/Bilingual) U.S. male demographic.  Twelve student groups competed for the account.  After much deliberation, Fox Deportes and Golden Boy Boxing representatives chose Freshwater Consulting’s campaign, “Now is Our Time” as the winner.  Congratulations to team members Anthony Annese, Jennifer DeFreece, Chris Downar, Mike Eton, and Vivian Montoya!  Fox said of the class projects, “We really enjoyed seeing the great ideas for FOX Deportes and coming up with innovative ways to strengthen our partnership with Golden Boy Promotions.”  Dr. Walker highlighted that the partnership with Fox Creative University, “shows the ability and creativity of our students and perhaps more importantly, demonstrates COBAE's commitment to offering our students courses that teach valuable concepts and tools they will use in their future careers.”

This year, FOX Deportes chose a unique way of announcing the winner and thanking all of the students in an online video message.
